Our Tour:

DAY 1 - At 6:00 a.m., we depart for the Black Forest Route. We stop for breakfast in the village of Rayón and then continue to the village of Chapultenango (a fortified site of the grasshoppers). A 4-hour drive takes us to the town and the former Convent of the Assumption, built in 1590. We have lunch before arriving at the ecotourism center to set up our tents at the foot of the volcano. We have free time to explore the area. Dinner and overnight stay are included.

DAY 2 - At 7:00 a.m. We will begin the 3-hour hike to the crater with a stop to rest and have breakfast, which we will have prepared in our backpacks. We will reach the top at approximately 11:00 a.m. We will take a short break and then begin the descent into the crater to reach the hot, sulfurous lagoon of this enigmatic place. You can take a swim of no more than 2 hours, as recommended for your health. Then, you will leave and begin the descent to the camp. Lunch is included. We will return to San Cristobal de las Casas or Tuxtla Gutierrez. End of services.
